Privacy

This policy explains what information Taylor Leather Studio collects when you visit or order, why it's collected, and what choices you have about it. If anything here isn't clear, write me at hello@taylorleather.com and I'll do my best to explain.

What I collect

When you place an order or contact me, the following information is collected:

Contact information, your name, email address, and shipping address.
Payment information, credit card details are handled directly by Stripe, my payment processor. I never see or store your full card number; I only see the last four digits and the card brand, which Stripe shows me for reconciliation.
Order history, items you've ordered, quotes you've requested, messages you've sent, and the addresses they shipped to.
Basic site analytics, pages visited, approximate location at the country/region level, device type, and referring site. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you individually.
Cookies, essential cookies needed for the cart and checkout to work. Optional analytics cookies are only set if you opt in.

Why I collect it

To process and ship your orders.
To respond to your questions and quote requests.
To prevent fraud and detect suspicious activity.
To understand which products and pages are working, at a high level.
To send marketing emails, but only if you specifically opt in. I don't add buyers to a mailing list by default.

Who I share it with

I share the minimum information needed to fulfill your order:

Stripe, for processing payment.
Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, and international carriers as needed), for delivering your order. They get your name and shipping address.
Resend, for sending transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notifications, replies to your messages).
Tax authorities, if required by law, in connection with sales tax reporting.

Who I don't share it with

I don't sell your data. Ever. Not to marketers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
I don't share your information with third-party advertisers.
I don't use your purchase history to target you with ads elsewhere on the internet.

How long I keep it

Order and customer records, kept for at least 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
Analytics data, summarized and retained in aggregate; individual session data is discarded after a short window.
Email correspondence, kept as long as it might be useful for service, then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights regarding your information, including:

The right to request a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
The right to ask me to correct inaccurate information.
The right to request deletion of your data, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
The right to opt out of marketing emails at any time (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link).
The right, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), to know what categories of personal information have been collected and to request deletion.
The right, under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), to access, correct, port, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing.

Cookies

Only essential cookies (cart, checkout, login session) are set by default. Optional analytics cookies are off unless you opt in through the cookie banner or your account settings.

Children

This shop is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information here, please contact me and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. If the changes are significant, I'll note it at the top of the page and update the effective date. Continued use of the shop after a change means you accept the updated policy.
