Terms

Effective date: 2026-06-12

These terms cover the agreement between you (the buyer) and Taylor Leather Studio (operated by Taylor). By placing an order, you agree to what's written here. If anything is unclear, please email me at hello@taylorleather.com before you order.

1. Agreement

By using this site, placing an order, or requesting a quote, you confirm that you've read these terms and agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't order.

2. Pricing and product information

I try to keep prices, photos, dimensions, and descriptions accurate, but errors happen. I reserve the right to correct pricing or product errors and to cancel an order placed against an obvious mistake (for example, a piece listed at one one-hundredth of its real price). If I cancel an order this way, I'll refund any payment in full.

Photos show real pieces, but handmade items vary. Wood grain, leather grain, glass color, fiber dye lots, and similar natural variation are part of the work, not defects.

3. Order acceptance

Placing an order is an offer to buy. I confirm orders by email, and the confirmation is when the sale is final on my end. I reserve the right to decline orders that appear fraudulent, are placed for bulk resale without prior agreement, or that I can't fulfill for material or capacity reasons. If I decline an order, I'll refund you in full.

4. Payment

Payment is processed through Stripe at the time of order. Prices are listed in US dollars unless noted otherwise. Sales tax is calculated based on the shipping address and applicable law, and shown at checkout before you confirm.

5. Shipping and returns

Shipping, lead times, and return windows are described on the Shipping and Returns pages of this shop. Those policies are part of these terms.

6. Custom orders

Custom and quote-based orders follow the terms of the quote agreement you approve before work starts. In general:

  • A deposit is required before I begin work on a custom piece.
  • There are clear approval milestones during the build. After you've approved a milestone, that part of the work is locked in.
  • Custom orders become non-cancellable once material has been cut, dyed, formed, or otherwise committed specifically to your piece.
  • The quote agreement is the source of truth for your specific custom order.

7. Intellectual property

All designs, photos, written content, and product designs on this site remain the property of Taylor. You may not copy, reproduce, or use any of it for commercial purposes without written permission. Buying a piece doesn't transfer design rights, it transfers ownership of the physical object.

If you provide a sketch, reference photo, or design for a custom order, you confirm that you own the rights to it or have permission to use it. I won't reproduce someone else's copyrighted or trademarked design.

8. Use of the work

The work I make is intended for ordinary use as described on each product page. I'm not liable for damages, losses, or injuries arising from misuse, modification, or use outside the intended purpose of a piece.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, my liability for any claim related to a piece you bought is limited to the purchase price of that piece. I'm not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow this limitation, in which case it applies to the maximum extent the law allows.

10. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the seller's governing jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute we can't resolve directly will be handled in the courts of the seller's governing jurisdiction.

Before any formal dispute, please write me at hello@taylorleather.com. Most issues can be fixed with a direct conversation.

11. Updates to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page and the effective date will be updated. Orders placed after a change are governed by the updated terms; orders placed before are governed by the terms in effect at the time of order.

12. Contact
